Some 55 rockets have been fired toward Safed and the surrounding areas this morning, the IDF says.
In the first barrage, around 20 rockets were fired and in the second, some 35. A number were intercepted while others fell in open areas. There were no reports of injuries.
According to the Hebrew-language media reports, a number of the impacts sparked fires.
The military says a short time later, jets hit the rocket launchers in south Lebanon.

The IDF’s aerial defense array intercepted rockets in two separate Saturday morning barrages, during which a total of over 55 rockets were fired into Israeli territory from Lebanon, the IDF reported.
Earlier, at 8:17 a.m., rocket sirens sounded in a number of Israeli cities and towns in the North, including Safed, Dishon, Malkia, Hukok, and Kahal.
The IDF later confirmed that during this earlier barrage, some 20 rockets crossed from Lebanon into Israel.
A second, approximately 35-rocket barrage was identified during a second round of sirens that blared at around 9:00 a.m. in Eifelet, Dishon, Rosh Pnina, and other locales in the Upper Galilee.
While the IDF affirmed that it had intercepted some of the rockets during both barrages, those that were not intercepted reportedly fell into open areas.

No injuries were reported as a result of the attacks.
Fires break out in open areas
Israel’s Army Radio, however, reported that as a result of the attacks, several fires broke out in open areas near Safed.
In response to the rocket attacks on the Upper Galilee, the IDF said that Israel Air Force aircraft struck the launcher from which the rockets had been fired at Israel. Further, the IAF struck additional targets in southern Lebanon.
Additionally, Israeli aircraft struck the launcher that had fired rockets at Israel’s north during the night as well as a Hezbollah structure in the Kfar Remen area of southern Lebanon, the military added.

These intercepted communications feature Hamas operatives discussing the movement of goods from overflowing humanitarian aid warehouses to Khan Yunis.
“We’ve got trucks filled with goods alongside the diesel trucks,” one operative said. “At this point, we have everything… The warehouse is at full capacity. We’re just waiting for the green light to start transferring.” The second operative responded, “Coordinating with Samer is difficult due to a reception issue. If you can move them elsewhere, go ahead.” The first operative then asked, “Can you take them to Khan Yunis, or will that cause a delay?”
This short exchange illustrates the significant flow of aid into Gaza, broadcasters said during the episode. What began with two trucks entering Gaza before the agreement has now grown into 200 trucks arriving daily. Hamas seizes these supplies, gaining complete control over the warehouses without resistance, they said.
They also mentioned how the recordings not only expose how Hamas takes control of these shipments but also highlight the absurdity of the situation—the terrorist organization is running out of space to store the aid. Clearly, this aid is not being used for humanitarian purposes but is instead aiding the enemy.

Circumventing Hamas and including local Gazans
Hamas exerts full control over food and medicine distribution. Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Maj.-Gen. Ghassan Alian attempted to regulate the aid by involving Gaza-based merchants who had been active before the war in managing the inflow of supplies.
Hamas exploited this by taking 20% of the merchants’ profits. As a result, it was decided that starting next week, Alian would halt the aid transfer to these merchants.
