A man in his 30s was murdered and seven were injured in two terror attacks carried out by the same terrorist in Tel Aviv.

The terrorist was driving along the Tel Aviv promenade area when he began shooting at nearby civilians, killing the man in the process.

Israel Police later said the terrorist attempted to ram pedestrians in Tel Aviv before his car overturned, possibly due to attempts made to neutralize him.

An Israel Police officer shot the terrorist as he approached the car, with the terrorist appearing to reach for his weapon.

At least seven civilians were injured in the attacks, including three who were moderately wounded and rushed to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv for treatment.

Four persons were lightly injured and were rushed to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon for treatment.

All the victims in the attack are tourists, Magen David Adom’s spokesperson confirmed. The man who was killed was an Italian citizen, while the injured were British and Italian citizens.

“I arrived at the scene and saw an overturned car with a 17-year-old girl lying next to it, fully conscious, who suffered bruises on her head, stomach and limbs as a result of being hit by a car,” senior Magen David Adom medic Yosef Kurdi described the scene.

“After initial treatment on the spot, she was evacuated in an MDA intensive care unit to Ichilov Hospital in moderate condition. About 200 meters north on the boardwalk lay an unconscious man with injuries to his body. He was without a pulse and not breathing and after medical tests we had to determine his death in the field. Additional large MDA forces that arrived at the scene provided medical treatment to 4 other victims in moderate and light condition who were also hit by the vehicle.”

Shortly following the attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced he had ordered the mobilization of Border Police and IDF reservists in response to the deadly attacks in Tel Aviv.

This is a developing story.

Iran and Saudi Arabia will reopen diplomatic representations within the two-month period stipulated in an agreement facilitated by China in March, a joint statement signed by the two countries on Thursday said.

The two countries agreed to resume flights and bilateral visits of official and private sector delegations, in addition to facilitating visas for citizens, the statement said.

Rocket sirens sounded in the communities of Chavat Shikmim and Dorot near Sderot and in the towns of Patish and Ranen, close to Ofakim near the Gaza Strip early on Thursday morning, the IDF stated. While no interceptors were required, seven rockets were fired and exploded in air, with five fired toward Israeli territories and two fired into the sea in Gaza territory.

This came only hours after two rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip toward Israel on Wednesday evening, during the Passover Seder dinner.

One rocket failed to fire and fell within the Strip while the second landed in an open area near the Gaza border, the Israeli military said.

Sirens did not sound in the nearby Israeli local councils and communities.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Jihad terror organization, took responsibility for the rocket fire and stated that it was done “in response to what is happening in Jerusalem. Our leadership gives the enemy an hour to leave the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards, otherwise we will repeat the operation.”

The statement came amid the second night in a row of clashes between Palestinians and the police in the al-Aqsa mosque.
